Windows and Mac

Usability research on a Mac, with the study files you already have.

Ovo Logger is one product on both platforms. Record on the lab machine and analyze on a Mac, or run a screen-and-webcam study start to finish on the Mac. Built for Apple silicon, notarized by Apple, and still entirely on your own hardware.

01 / One study, either machine

A study moves between the two without converting anything.

Not an export, and not a one-way trip. A study is a self-contained folder on a drive you own, and both platforms open the same one: the same sessions, the same recordings, the same notes, task timings and findings. Record in the lab on Windows and carry on from a Mac, or record a session on a Mac and pick it up on the lab machine. Either direction, and the study is unchanged by the move.

02 / On the Mac

What a researcher does, done natively.

Record the session

The screen, a webcam and the microphone, with multiple synchronized sources on one clock and each source written to its own file. Encoding runs on the Mac's own hardware encoder.

Picture-in-picture

Screen and webcam blended into a single file, with the combined view live on screen and on the virtual camera while you record. The blended file is written when you stop.

Everything indexed, locally

Speech transcription, on-screen text, clicks and keystrokes, all computed on the machine. Search the session instead of scrubbing it.

Review and cut

The timeline, search across the whole study, highlight clips, and a stitched reel of the moments you marked.

Measure

Task timings, task outcomes, and a catalog of use errors and close calls.

The findings report

The local AI findings report runs on the Mac, on the machine, with nothing uploaded. How we use AI.

Medical device studies

Critical tasks, the use-related risk analysis and the HFE report, the same as on Windows. Medical devices.

Bring the old projects

Import sessions from an Ovo Logger ADC 3 project. The reader ships with the app, so nothing else has to be installed to read the old database.

A camera your meeting app can see

The live composite is published as a native macOS camera extension, so it shows up as a camera in apps that let you pick one.

03 / Installed and trusted

It installs like a Mac app, because it is one.

The Ovo Logger ADC 4 installer window on a Mac: the app's red egg icon on the left, a large arrow pointing right, and the Applications folder on the right, under the instruction to drag Ovo Logger ADC 4 onto Applications.

Signed and notarized

Code-signed by Ovo Studios, LLC and notarized by Apple, with a published SHA-256 beside the download. Drag it to Applications.

Apple silicon

Built for Apple silicon, macOS 14 or later. Self-contained, with no runtime to install first.

Awake while recording

The Mac will not sleep or idle out mid-session, so a long unattended session finishes.

Try it on your own study.

Download it for your Mac, or let us run a real study end to end on your setup so your team can judge it on their own work rather than a canned demo.
