On-premise usability research lab
Every session.
Every source.
Nothing leaves the room.
Ovo Logger records, moderates, and analyzes usability studies entirely on hardware you control — synchronized multi-source capture, a live observer console, and AI findings that run on-device. No cloud, by design.
BUILT FOR LABS WHERE THE CLOUD ISN'T AN OPTION
01 / Data sovereignty
Human research is your most sensitive data. Keep it that way.
Every cloud usability tool ships your participants' faces, voices, and screens to someone else's servers. Ovo Logger doesn't. Recording, review, and analysis all run on machines you own — so studies covered by IRB, HIPAA, ITAR, or plain common sense never have to leave the building.
bytes sent to the cloud — capture, storage, and AI are fully local
runs on isolated networks; activation and licensing are offline
every study is a self-contained database on a drive you own — one project holding every session, note, and finding
02 / Capture
One clock. Up to four sources. Frame-accurate.
Screen, webcam, capture cards, and PTZ cameras record in parallel on a shared timebase — so every source lines up to the millisecond in review. Each feed is its own encoder for crash isolation, and a live monitor shows every source before you hit record.
Any source
DXGI screen capture, webcams, professional capture cards, and PTZ cameras.
A/V hardware control
Drive matrix switchers, PIP inserters, and PTZ cameras from inside the app.
Field-ready
A permanently installed lab or a rig that travels in a case — the same software has run 4-source capture in a moving car.
03 / The study, end to end
Design it, moderate it, log it — in one place.
The full moderated protocol, whether your participant is across the table or across the building.
A console for every note-taker
Observers join from any phone or laptop and log timestamped notes and tags against the live recording clock — each with their own task timeline for inter-rater timing.
server-stamped · LAN or relayQuestionnaires & self-guided tasks
Deliver SUS, SEQ, and eight question types before, between, and after tasks — results chart themselves per question — or hand the participant a self-guided task runner that times itself.
SUS / SEQ scored app-sideSearch the session, cut the clip
Speech and on-screen text are indexed, so you can search a recording and jump to the moment. A timeline that zooms like an edit suite lanes out every event; mark in / out to save highlight clips and stitch them into a reel. And when it's time to hand off, the whole study exports to CSV and a self-contained HTML data table.
OCR + speech · zoomable timeline · reels · HTML/CSV export04 / On-device intelligence
AI findings that never phone home.
A local language model — running on the same machine, no API, no upload — turns your sessions into a stakeholder-ready findings report, answers questions about the study, and even drafts the study plan. Every claim is cited to a real moment and quote-verified against the transcript, and every number is computed by the app from a sound measurement — or declined, and stated as declined. The AI suggests; it never fabricates.
Findings report
Plain-language report for non-technical stakeholders, with a researcher appendix of severities and scores.
Ask the study
Grounded Q&A over the sessions — answers cite verbatim quotes with clickable timestamps.
Study designer
Turn a plain brief into tasks, a screener, and a moderator guide — the app enforces the rules.
Checkout was the clearest pain point. 3 of 5 participants hit a payment error and two abandoned the task.
[S2 @ 6:35] “it just says error 402 and won't let me pay”
The category, reclaimed
When the classic lab suites retired, serious moderated research lost its home.
Ovo Logger is its modern successor — the depth of a purpose-built usability lab, rebuilt for today's hardware, today's privacy expectations, and today's AI. If you've been limping along on screen recorders and spreadsheets since Morae, this is the tool you've been missing.
05 / Under the hood
Instrument-grade, not a screen recorder.
Purpose-built for research rigor: synchronized capture, structured data, and a self-contained project format that stays yours.
