Ovo Logger · the product
One tool, from brief to findings.
Ovo Logger runs the entire usability study end to end — designing the protocol, capturing synchronized sources, moderating with a team, reviewing the footage, and writing the findings — without ever leaving your own hardware. Here's the whole loop.
01 / Design
Stand up a rigorous study in an afternoon.
Describe what you want to learn in plain language and the built-in designer drafts the tasks, a screener, and a moderator guide — which you edit and approve. Or build it by hand. Either way, the structure carries all the way through to analysis.
Tasks & participants
Scenarios with success criteria and starting URLs; participant profiles and quick-log tags.
Questionnaires
Eight question types plus standard SUS and SEQ — delivered before, between, or after tasks, with per-question result distributions charted in place.
A/B studies
Compare two designs with per-variant URLs and automatic counterbalancing across participants.
02 / Record
Configure once. Hit record. Watch it all live.
Save your rig as a reusable recording setup, then capture up to four sources on a single shared clock. A live monitor shows every feed and audio level before and during the session, so you catch a dropped signal in the moment — not in review.
Multi-source, synchronized
Screen, webcam, capture cards, and PTZ cameras — frame-aligned to the millisecond.
Live monitor
Per-source thumbnails and VU meters, with grab/encode stats so you can trust the capture.
Virtual camera out
Expose the composited feed as a webcam for web conferencing when a stakeholder wants to watch along.
03 / Moderate
A whole team can watch — from anywhere on your network.
Observers join from any phone or laptop and drop timestamped notes and tags straight onto the recording clock, each keeping their own task timeline. Notes are stamped server-side and back-dated to when the behavior started, so they land exactly where it happened. Mistyped? Fix or withdraw a note on the spot — its moment never moves.
Remote observer console
Timestamped notes, tag chips, and per-observer task timing for inter-rater comparison.
Self-guided task runner
Unmoderated? The participant walks the protocol themselves, timing each task and answering surveys inline.
Moderator or participant records
Whoever runs the session owns the recording — the console reaches it either way.
04 / Review
Find the moment. Cut the clip. Skip the scrubbing.
Every session is transcribed and its on-screen text recognized — each utterance anchored to the moment it was actually said — so you search a recording like a document and jump straight to it. The timeline lanes out clicks, keystrokes, speech, and notes, and zooms like an edit suite; multi-source sessions play back as one synchronized canvas.
Searchable playback
Speech + screen-text indexed locally; type a phrase, land on the second it appears.
An edit-suite timeline
Zoom at the pointer, an adaptive time ruler, and a session navigator — and where events pile up, they merge into a counted badge that opens apart on click.
Composite layouts, remembered by your rig
Arrange all your video sources as PIP, side-by-side, or grid — save it once and every session on that setup opens arranged your way.
Highlight clips & reels
Mark in / out to save clips that render in the background — then stitch clips from across the study into one reel to hand to stakeholders.
Checkout was the clear pain point — most participants stalled at the payment step.
“it just says error 402 and won't let me pay”
05 / Analyze
A findings report, drafted before you leave the lab.
An on-device model reads the whole study and drafts a plain-language findings report for stakeholders — with a researcher appendix of severities and scores underneath. The app owns every number and timestamp; the AI only suggests, and every claim is cited to a real quote and verified against the transcript.
Findings & measured facts
Task times, completion, SUS/SEQ, and severity — computed by the app, phrased by the model.
Numbers you can defend
Task timing is an explicit start and stop — so instructions and resets are never on the clock. A task that was located but not truly timed is shown, never averaged; an unscored outcome is excluded and the report says so.
Your outcome vocabulary
Bring a 5-point scale or a protocol's use error / close call — each outcome carries its own score and severity, and the analysis reads those, never the wording.
Ask the study
Grounded Q&A over your sessions; answers cite verbatim quotes with clickable timestamps.
A/B comparison
When a study spans two designs, the report's spine becomes the comparison — per-design times and scores.
Hand over the data itself
One click exports the whole study — a CSV for your stats tools, and a self-contained HTML data table with sorting, filters, and search that opens in any browser with nothing installed. Run it from a USB stick.
06 / And through all of it
The loop closes without ever leaving your hardware.
Entirely on-premise
Design, capture, moderation, review, and AI all run locally. Nothing is uploaded — see the security page.
One project, yours
Every study is a self-contained database on a drive you own — sessions, notes, and findings in one place.
Modern & accessible
A DPI-aware interface with light & dark themes, built to WCAG 2.2 AA.
Ovo Logger
See the whole loop in your lab.
We'll run a real study end to end on your setup — design through findings — so your team can judge it on their own studies, not a canned demo.
