Practitioners who identified themselves as both corporate and consultant were split between the "well-defined team" and "definition in progress" categories. This is to be expected, as the mission and goals of the team have to cater to the type of customer they are working with.

Here are some examples of comments that fell into this category:

We have a usability manager and an intern. Our mission is to make our Web site more user-focused and to conduct field studies to learn more about users.
Two 2-member teams. The role of the team is to determine user needs and make necessary adjustments to the coroporate intranet accordingly.
Responsibilities:* User centred design through use cases and iterative low-fidelity prototyping.* Usability testing of product after implementation While there are only two in the team, we leverage our numbers by educating others in our organisation, which is profoundly pro-usability. So we have product managers, testers, and developers (yes, even developers) with real usability smarts, who we work with on each project, and act as consultants to.

Well Defined Team	These mission statements enumerate roles and responsibilities, as well as how the UCD team fits into the corporate structure and strategy.
Definition In Progress	These mission statements mainly focus on activities that the team performs or what the members specialize in.
No Clear Definition	These are mission statements which state very little about what the goals of the team are, and might only list the titles of the team members.
