Online Surveys
Wouldn't it be great to have an administrative
assistant who would collate, transcribe, summarize, and document the
results of your questionnaires? That was the impetus behind the Ovo
Studios Questionnaire software.
Preparing Your Surveys
Use the Ovo Logger Questionnaire Editor to develop your surveys (GUI
shown at right). You can ask the following types of questions:
- Instruction/Introduction pages.
- Short Answer
- Bulleted Answers (e.g. What were the three best
things about this system?)
- Essay
- Likert (includes ability to provide custom likert
labels, as well as the ability to counterbalance statistical values)
- Multiple choice, Pick one or Pick many
- Matrix (a multi-faceted multiple choice question,
e.g. a list of systems crossed with a list of attributes)
In addition to the question types above, the Questionnaire software
also automatically generates the SUS Survey format, developed by DEC.
In the post-test, the Ovo Logger analysis software automatically analyses
SUS data and reports the SUS score, both by user and across users.
Questions are grouped into sections which can be presented to
participants in any order to support counter-balanced designs. For
qualitative questions, it is also possible to ask the user for additional
comments
Administering Your Surveys
The Ovo Studios Questionnaire Player is run using a
thin-client interface, hosted within an Internet Explorer window.
This survey can be accessed from anywhere on your corporate network, and
automatically saves results to your Ovo Studios Questionnaire database.

Generating Results
When your test is over, the Ovo Logger software appropriately
collates, formats, and averages user responses. Participants responses
are collated; and summarized; means and standard deviations are
calculated; and frequencies are reported. For subjective questions,
such as short answer, essay, or bulleted answer, the Ovo Logger software
also automatically generates a word frequency analysis from user
responses, which can point toward themes in response across users.
The amount of time you can save using this tool to administer and
summarize questionnaires range in estimate from three (3) to five (5)
hours.
