Ovo Solo - Recording Technologies
Video Recording
Ovo Solo will record your participant’s screen and one other source in its native resolution. This is done from the Ovo Solo software, and not a third party application. You have control over the transparency level of the face cam, and may also add a caption for confidentiality or copyright information. The video is laminated into a single picture-in-picture file that is indexed with each observation for easy highlight creation. Video is saved as a Windows Media Video file, and is recorded using the tightest compression algorithm around for small, high-quality files.

No Proprietary Codecs for Video Playback
Basing Ovo Solo recording technology on the Windows Media architecture, Ovo Studios eliminates the need to download proprietary CODECs and players to view your videos. Solutions that use their own CODECs and players double encode the video, thus severely degrading the quality of the video and greatly increasing file size. What’s more, you can share your Ovo Logger generated WMV files with your colleagues and management without having to have them install the proprietary CODECs and players each time.

Video Streaming
By using Windows Media technologies, Ovo Solo can natively stream its content in real-time over your network to a connected Satellite Logger machine. This means that the test moderator could be anywhere within network reach, without any need for proprietary hardware or cabling. All data logged by the moderator takes any network lag into account so that you have an accurate record of when data was logged.
Ovo Studios Video Player
Ovo Studios' proprietary media player, embedded in Ovo Solo, supports several types of interactions which make it easier to find the tape you're looking for:
- Live scrubbing provides instantaneous update of video playback while dragging the playhead left and right.
- Trick play lets you play video faster or slower than real time..
- Skip to Next/Previous will automatically move the playback to the next or previous data item on the timeline, saving your time and effort!
- Keyboard enabled functions make your interactions even quicker.
