Ovo Logger: After the Study
Ovo Logger Automated Analysis Engine
Ovo Logger 6.0 includes the Automated Analysis engine, which provides
automatic analysis of your data to help you measure user performance,
benchmark the usability of a prototype, and distinguish themes in user
behavior. Analyses include:
- Task success
- Categorical frequency
- Statistical analysis of quantitative survey items
- Word frequency analysis of subjective survey items
- Duration of logged events
- Elapsed time-on-task for each logged observation.
Integrated Video Highlights Generation
Ovo Logger 6.0 provides
an integrated point-and-click Video Highlights Generator that enables
you to create highlights with incredible speed and flexibility.
- You can mix highlights from any available video or screen sources.
- You have full control over size, position, and transparency.
- You can preview the clip before it is processed, and even add the clip to a
queue for batch processing later.
Highlight are exported in standard Windows
Media format and also are shown on a dedicated video highlights page in
Ovo Logger's HTML report.
Fully Featured Post-Hoc Logging Interface
Ovo Logger 6.0's Log From Saved Video interface allows researchers
to log observations in a post-hoc fashion from saved video/screen files.
When logging from saved video, researchers have the same logging controls they have during a study, including:
- Task Time and Success Tracking
- Categorical and Free-form Logging
- Quicklogging
- Event Duration Tracking.
Log From Saved Video supports fast
and slow play for efficient navigation through a study's video record.
Existing logged
observations are shown on the Log From Saved Video timeline and may be
used as landmarks for subsequent logging or simply reviewed and
edited.
Multivariate Data Filtering
Ovo Logger's Analysis and Reporting Desktop gives you two different
ways to interact with your logged event data.
-
The Timeline View shows a spatial representation of logged events,
allowing researchers to identify clusters of
pertinent user behavior. The timeline can be filtered by Study Session,
User ID, Task ID, or zoomed to any ad hoc time range. Zooming is especially useful in
situations where multiple observers log a great deal of data.
- The Grid View uses a tabular layout to allow researchers to browse their logged data, filter by one or more
parameters, and edit data simply by clicking on it.

Ovo Logger: The One-Click Usability Report Vision
A one-click usability report is the design goal for Ovo Logger, but
no automated reporting tool can take the place of your judgment and
experience.
Ovo Logger will get you beyond the tedium of collation and
calculation and to the point where you can focus on the issues of
efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction.
HTML Report Details
The Automated Analysis Engine parses usability test data and exports
a set of analytical pages that form part of Ovo Logger's HTML Report,
including:
- Task Times
- Categorical Analysis of logged observations
- Survey Analysis.
These auto-generated analytical pages compliment and support your subjective analysis to make a compelling,
dynamic, and sharable usability report deliverable. You author content
on the following pages:
- The Report Home Page
- Usability
Findings Page
- Video Highlights Page.
The resulting multi-page, customizable report can be burned to a CD/DVD or hosted on a web server.
